To The Presiding BishoP, sir:
When I became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I was taught to say“I testify to you, I
know the Book of Mormon is true. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know the Mormon Church is true
and its President is a prophet on the earth today.”
I have been studying to prove if these statements are true, like a good Berean as mentioned in the Bible. What I have
discovered, including from reliable quotations from the official writings of the Church, The General Authorities,
shows the exact opposite.
Contrary to the Bible, the “Jesus” of the Latter-Day Saints is just one of a large number of gods. This Mormon “Jesus”
has a spirit-brother called Lucifer. My research has shown these statements are lies. The Bible teaches there is One
God, who reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Nowhere does the Bible teach Polytheism, but The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does.
So I state to you, “Your personal testimony is actually invalid because I testify to you that Joseph Smith was a false
prophet, the Mormon Church is not true, Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, the President of the Mormon Church is
not a prophet of God on this earth today, and I say this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
My testimony is valid because it is true. Spiritual truth is never based on someone’s testimony, but on the objective
Word of God, the Bible. It isn’t what we think that really matters - it is what God says in the Bible.
I renounce my association with and all my obligations to the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, without
the least equivocation, mental reservation, or self-evasion of mind. For the Word of God says: “Do not be unequally
yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has
light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).
I have no animosity towards you personally, nor any other church member. I trust you did not seek to deceive me
deliberately, but the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had deceived us both.
I request that you formally acknowledge this resignation in writing as soon as possible.
Respectfully,
